Domains

Whole sites, and path-scoped outlets for businesses that share one website.

Adding a domain

Domains → Add domain. Enter the hostname without a scheme: example.com, not https://example.com/. We normalise what you type, so www. and trailing slashes are handled.

How many domains you may track is set by your plan; extra domains are available as an add-on.

Path-scoped outlets

Some businesses run several locations or brands on one website: example.com/stockholm, example.com/goteborg. Add each as its own domain with the path included, and PicoRank treats them as separate sites throughout — separate keywords, separate scans, separate crawls, separate reports.

Crawls stay inside the path. An outlet scoped to /stockholm will not wander into /goteborg and attribute its pages to the wrong location.

Add the outlet, not the whole site, when the pages are genuinely separate businesses to you. Add the whole site when you care about it as one thing. Tracking both is legitimate but doubles the slots.

Switching between domains

The domain switcher in the header scopes Keywords, Competitors, Scans and every results page. If a page looks empty or unfamiliar, check which domain is selected — it is the most common cause.

Links in emails carry the domain they are about, so a report about one outlet opens on that outlet.

Removing a domain

Removing a domain deletes its keywords, scans, crawls and history. It cannot be undone, and the history cannot be rebuilt — past search results are not re-fetchable. Export anything you want to keep first.
